Jesus + Donuts
To truly love our neighbor, we must meet them where they are at. And bring donuts.
This is a space we create to consistently reveal the love of Jesus to our neighbors in the North Park Blocks of downtown Portland.
A table. Some coffee. And a lot of donuts to welcome anyone in the area to a space created for fellowship and friendship. It’s not always pretty, but Jesus meets us, and our friends on the street, right where we are at.
Every other Saturday at 10am.
Things To Know
-
✺
We meet every other Saturday from 10am-12pm. We gather early to pray, and then set up the table together and love people.
-
✺
It has been said that with our houseless neighbors, the hard work of establishing trust is built ounce by ounce, and lost by the gallon. This is why consistency is critical.
-
✺
This is all about restoring dignity, which is why we focus so much on relationship. Showing up regularly to serve someone by name, without agenda, to encourage someone with joyful words, and learn a little more about our neighbors through asking questions.
-
✺
The people we interact with in this area can be diverse: houseless, creative college students, small business owners, people challenged by addiction and mental health, and people who live in some of the most expensive apartments and condos in all of Portland.
